Polenta Chips

I was asked a question about baby led weaning on Facebook and came up with a few recipes. This is one that could be enjoyed by adults and babies a like.



500g Quick cook polenta

2l Boiling water

20g Chopped rosemary

100g Grated parmesan or other cheese of your choice. (For babies the milder cheeses might be better)

50ml Olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste (again for babies you may choose to eliminate the seasoning)



  • Boil water with oil, seasoning and rosemary.
  • Continuously whisk the water whilst slowly raining in half of the polenta.
  • Then add the cheese and melt.
  • When melted continue to rain in the polenta whilst whisking.
  • When all the polenta is in turn the stove down to the lowest setting until it thickens and the polenta cleanly moves away from the pan with a spatula.
  • Put onto a tray and refrigerate.
  • When set cut into chips.
  • (Babies could eat them from this point)
  • Or you could bake them in the oven with a little oil until they become crispy
